Interface
Nothing extra. Just the tunnel.
A large latency indicator, the list of ws-nodes on the left and a single button — the whole interface fits on one screen.
How it works
Three steps to a stable Discord
Diagnostics
The app checks available ws-nodes in real time and measures the response of every tunnel.
Node selection
Out of all nodes it picks the fastest WebSocket server with the minimal latency.
Connection
Discord switches to the chosen tunnel: keep-alive and auto-reconnect keep the channel open, the DNS cache is flushed.
Advantages
Built for Discord
Stable tunnel
Keep-alive and instant reconnect — the connection survives even a network switch.
Unremarkable traffic
The WebSocket channel looks like ordinary web traffic and passes where direct connections fail.
One click
The whole connection is a single button. No manual setup, no command line.
Lightweight
Minimal memory, zero background activity and ads. Just the tunnel.
Infrastructure
Nodes near you
Four ws-nodes across Europe: the app always picks the closest and the fastest one.
Comparison
Why not a VPN
| Zapret Discord | VPN | Generic proxy | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What goes through the tunnel | Discord only | All system traffic | Discord only |
| Speed of everything else | Unchanged — goes directly | Capped by the VPN server | Unchanged |
| Setup | One button | App, configs, keys | Manual links inside Discord |
| Blocking resistance | The ws-channel masks itself as regular web traffic | Depends on protocol: OpenVPN is often throttled | Proxy signatures are easily detected |
| System load | Minimal | Encrypting all traffic | Minimal |
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How is Zapret Discord different from a VPN?
Only Discord traffic is proxied — everything else goes directly. That makes it faster, lighter on the system and it needs no administrator rights.
What is ws transport?
Discord talks to the proxy over WebSocket — the same protocol ordinary websites use. The channel is hard to tell apart from web traffic, so it works where direct connections break.
Is there anything to configure manually?
No. The app checks the ws-nodes itself, picks the fastest tunnel and connects with a single button.
Is it free?
Yes. Version 1.0.0 is completely free — no ads, no subscriptions, no traffic limits.
What data do you collect?
None. The servers keep no request logs, and all settings are stored only on your computer.
